James Allen, business proprietor, welcomes you. An avid trophy fisherman himself, who knows the thrill of a big catch is pleased to provide a wholesome fishing experience in a natural environment. Our five-acre spring fed lake is set among beautiful pine trees, providing a peaceful retreat for anglers. Whether you are a seasoned fisherman or a beginner, our facilities and community are here to support your passion for fishing.

Cannon Paylake's founding members are family, neighbors and friends with a strong work ethic. We take pride in keeping the shoreline clean for easy access to fishing spots. With family friendly prices on drinks and snacks, our helpful staff at the bait shop are ready to assist you. Need a place to cool off? Sit a spell at the tables and chairs to enjoy your snacks or rest on the comfortable sofa and stuffed chair while hoping to land that big tag fish. Not ready to invest in fishing equipment, we are adding a Rent a Rod shelf upon request.

History of Cannon Lake
Cannon Lake has a rich history and old-timers will recall it as being one of Knox County's best known pay lake and social activities centers. Doubtless many will remember attending dances, baptisms, fishing contests, dining at the restaurant, or attending an annual dog show for the best Champion Foxhound where trophies and hunters stories were prized.
It was the endeavor of Otis Ball and his wife Cora Hurst Ball that began in 1965 and lasted until 1977 when the lake was auctioned.
